Zoo Atlanta

Experience the beauty and diversity of nature as you walk through Zoo Atlanta.

On March 11, we went to Zoo Atlanta for Jesse’s birthday. We don’t always get to see a ton of wildlife on our hikes, so chose a trip that would make up for that. Although this wasn’t our typical hike, we did walk 3 miles while at the zoo! FYI, they do sell beer and seltzers at the Zoo. Our favorite animals were the Malayan sun bear, meerkats, and pandas.

You’ll also get to explore the lush, natural vegetation of the park. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some of the park’s resident birds.

Before you set out on your Zoo Atlanta adventure, be sure to grab a map from the visitor center. The maps will help you navigate the walkways and ensure you’ll find the animals you want to see. You should also remember wear comfortable shoes.

Walking through Zoo Atlanta is a great way to experience the beauty of nature while getting up close and personal with some of the park’s amazing wildlife. So if you’re looking for a fun and unique way to explore the zoo, don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

After the Zoo, though, we decided to visit a brewery. Atlanta is called home for several breweries, and it was hard to pick just one – We settled on Fire Maker Brewing Company.

Tips for the Trip:

• Zoo Atlanta serves mostly Sweetwater Beers. But be aware, on a busy weekend, you will have to stand in a 30-minute line!
