Red Top Brewhouse – Acworth, Georgia
After our hike at Red Top Mountain State Park, we definitely deserved a beer (or two!) after that 5-mile hike. We decided to go to historic downtown Acworth to Red Top Brewhouse and Brewery. This is a large brewery with plenty of indoor, upstairs, and outdoor seating. This was maybe one of the biggest brewery venues we have been to. Red Top is unique because you pour your own drink – And they charge by the ounce! But if you are too tired for that after a hike, there is a full-service bar you can sit at as well. Red Top has a menu with all kinds of foods, including vegan and gluten free options.

There were several beers to try, including some referencing Red Top Mountain State Park such as Iron Hill Trail Hazy IPA and Hiker’s Haven IPA. I tried the Red, which is a sour, the American Apple Cider, and the Jam Session, which is a fruit sour. Jesse tried a Second Chance blond ale and the Jam Session as well. We both loved Jam Session! I can’t wait to go back to get some more. Overall, Red Top Brewhouse is a great stop for a post hike drink. Red Top has giant fire pits outside, and a dog park! This venue is extremely family friendly. One of the best things about this brewery is the beer pricing as it is sold by the ounce. I was skeptical at first when it came to paying by the ounce, but this ended up being one of the cheapest breweries to drink at. For six drinks, we paid $22.00.
Venue Tips:
- Red Top Brewhouse is self-serve. Upon arrival, you link your credit/debit card to a brew card. When you want a drink, you scan your card at the tap, where it charges you by the ounce.
- Red Top Brewhouse also has beers from other companies, sangria, and mixed drinks for a wider variety than most breweries.
