Cartecay River Brewing Company – Ellijay, Georgia

After our hike on Bear Creek Trail, we felt like we definitely earned a beer or two! We drove back to Ellijay for a few drinks at Cartecay River Brewing Company. Founded in 2017, Cartecay River Brewing Company is dedicated to making high-quality beers for their local community.

Out of all the breweries we have been to, this has to be one of my favorites. The brewery is on the Cartecay River. There is a large porch area is enclosed with heaters during the winter so that visitors can still enjoy the river views.

There is shuffleboard and darts to play inside, plenty of seating, and a sweet cat named Midnight to keep you company. Jesse tried the Pineapple Jalapeno New England IPA (NEIPA), the Espresso Porter, and the Raspberry Cafe Au Latte Stout. His favorite was the Espresso Porter. I tried the Cashes Valley Hefeweizen and the Autumn Crisp Apple Ale, which was my favorite. They also offer a variety of guest taps, ciders, and wines, as well as a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

Cartecay Brewing is dog friendly. The company is also active in the local community, participating in fundraisers and donating to local charities. We are looking forward to revisiting this brewery!
